A half truth is half untrue. Shortly afer marriage in 1928 Wright began writing an autobiography designed almost wholly for a popular audience of future clients and for a place in history. It included descriptions of the concrete blocks, now using the word “textile”

Gradually I unfolded the scheme of the textile block-slab house gradually forming in my mind since I got home from Japan [in ‘922]…

The concrete block? The cheapest (and ugliest) thing in the building world. It lived mostly in the architectural gutter as an imitation of “rock face” stone.
